βIn all things of nature there is something of the marvellous.β β Aristotle
This being a long week-end, at the end of the day on Friday, as Corb was driving me home from the workstead, Corb mentioned that one of things he wanted to do was drive to Connecticut on Saturday, to a) drop off a finished lighting fixture to Matilda Titsworth's father-in-law and b) take in an open house that a friend and fellow local artisan was holding.
I thought about that for a moment. "Let's make it a little bigger," I said. "Let's just go somewhere in CT for the night. Doesn't matter where."
So, never so bright and not so early, we headed off to CT. Destination: unknown.
As we were heading to wherever, somewhere between dropping off said lighting fixture and taking in the open house, both of us felt...the Stir of Nature.
And since we were in a rather rural section of Massachusetts at the time, we decided, well, what the heck? Let's pull over to relieve ourselves.
I stood guard while Corb went to do his thing. No, no crossing streams. Then, he stood guard for me.
Can I tell you? Not for nothing, but there is nothing more freeing than wandering out into the wilderness, unleashing the kraken and peeing into the void.
Ah, nature! I hear thine precious tinkle. The sounds of the birds chirping, the sun beating down on my shoulders, the lazy bumblebee making a drunken beeline in front of me. Being surrounded completely in greenery and...letting it all flow.
Freedom, true freedom.
