Dec. 10th, 2004 12:35 pmMy buddy Pauline called last night, while I was wrestling with Ashley to do her homework. Corb took over the homework duties, and I hid in the little bedroom for a few minutes.
"Oh, Amber said the funniest thing the other day," Pauline said. "We were talking about your surprise birthday party, and Amber asked who was holding it. I told her that Corb and Josie were, and she kind of looked at me funny and then said, 'You know, Corb and Ted seem to be pretty much joined at the hip. Do you think maybe Ted and Josie didn't get divorced because they weren't getting along? Maybe Ted's actually gay, and isn't it a good thing that he lives in Massachusetts and could get married to Corb?"
"Oh, man. What did you say?" I asked, trying not to smile. But I couldn't help it.
Pauline laughed. "I didn't know what to say to her. I just sat there, open-mouthed, and then she said, 'Of course, since I know tell so well, I'm not thinking that. But I COULD.'"
Go with your gut instinct, child. Appearances aren't really that deceiving.
