About a week ago, I learned that my Live Journal was going to expire.

I have to be honest. For a while there, I seriously considered not renewing. In fact, I waited until one full day after the expiration, before I decided to renew again for another year.

I think I had this thought that not posting to Live Journal would allow me time to really focus on Pictures of You , because I'm worried about whether it makes sense to put the book down, mid-stream, to direct Anything Goes , especially when I've got such momentum going. I'll have to start thinking about the play in the next month, and I want to get as much done now on Pictures of You , because I know it's going to be hard to focus on directing and writing at the same time. So, I guess I'm doing the writer's equivalent of a squirrel storing up his nuts for the winter. I'm a nut gatherer.

Anyway, I did re-sign. I know, I'm addicted. But when you've done something for (going on) six years now, I guess it's hard to stop. It becomes part of your routine, you know? My first entry was on August 4, 2002: Here it is.

Here's the thing, though: because of my delay, my last two pots have been difficult, because I lost the "luxury" of receiving a notice, every time someone would post to my journal. That's why some of you may have noticed a delay in my responses--to find out if I had new responses, I would have to log into Live Journal, and scroll through the previous entries.

I want to see whether I can get notices again, now that I'm a member in good standing. So, can some of you respond to this, just to test things out. But don't be boring...this is my journal, after all! If you respond, please answer the following question: What was the date of your first Live Journal entry, and what did it say?
