Last night's rehearsal was a vast improvement. We spent quite some time fixing the problem areas, and I feel better about things.
The president of the group (and my choreographer) compare notes each night, before rehearsal: "Did you sleep last night?" Neither of us did Thursday night. Friday we both slept soundly.
Today I spent the morning at set construction. This is the largest set that I've ever had to deal with, and from what I've been told, the largest set that this group has ever had to handle, in all its fifty years (although "Around the World in 80 Days" sounds like it came close.) Of course, my set designer handles this Herculean task. I content myself with painting bricks, or other small tasks.
When I returned home, I spent some time working on Western Union telegrams to hang up in Lilli Vanessi's dressing room. One advantage of putting together the set dressing...you can add whatever you want, and the audience will never know...
