Things are looking up. (I originally typed this as UP!, but it looked sort of stupid.)
I don't know, maybe it's the warm weather.
Last night's rehearsal went really well. My new Gremio picks things up quickly, and managed to get through "Tom, Dick, or Harry" and "Too Darn Hot." Oh, and all of his blocking...at least, on book.
Today was a set construction day, and we were able to get a lot of the base painting done. Next week, we start to fill in the details. This is a HUGE set, as my set designer continually grumbles. And, it is.
It was a great day to be painting. The sun was shining, and felt good on my bald head. I deliberately wore my ugliest shirt, and my lead actresses covered it in red paint. Later on, my stage manager poured beer all over me, while I cowered inside a wine vat. And after that, this 60-year-old guy in the ensemble kissed me goodbye on top of my head.
And tonight, I go bowling!
Does life get any better than this?
