Days of salad and fireworks

Despite the fact that July 4 and 5 are officially tracked as the hottest days on record ever, in New England, it was actually kind of rainy and downcast, for the most part. In fact, my sister cancelled our yearly party at the beach house due to the rain (and because my parents said they weren't feeling that well). I was determined to hold something at Green Victoria on the 4th for the kids.

Turns out, it was a good call, all around. Not going to the beach house on the 3rd gave Corb and I a chance to clean up around the house and even get relaxation time in our pool, just the two of us. This year has been so rainy we have mostly only gone in to clean.  On the 4th, although we had huge thunderboomers early afternoon, the skies cleared up in time for some nice family swim time later in the day.
