Since it really involves using three vacation days instead of five, I took the week off. Here's what I've done so far:

Monday: A few years ago I spent a week basically reading Sherlock Holmes. This week I resolved to do a similar thing, only with pre-Hollywood Alfred Hitchcock movies. Today was Jamaica Inn, which I absolutely loved. Nothing beats Daphne du Maurier and Alfie. Also uploaded Chapter Six of Confessions and drafted out Chapter Seven.

Tuesday: Number 17. Although Hitchcock didn't think much of this film, I thought it was passably enjoyable. Wrote two pages of Chapter Seven. That night, went to Downtown with Corb, along with Mama Sue and Judi Kotta. Made plans to visit New York City in the spring.

Today: my favorite day so far. Watched The 39 Steps, which I loved. Three pages of Chapter Seven, including constructing anti-abortion poetry set to deliberately awkward iambic pentameter. Don't ask. Ashes returned home last night and is now sleeping on my couch. Theo is playing X box in his room. All feels incredibly cozy.
