Okay, okay, I know...I really need to post something. Believe me, I've had all these stories that I've been collecting, too. Squirrelling away, like little pocket nuts. I just haven't had any time to post anything, though.

Maybe I'm trying to hard to make everything just perfect. Like, I have a great story I want to post about driving an RV down an underwater highway to Hawaii (don't worry, it'll make an insane kind of Ted logic once I'm done with it). But that's the thing...I know what I want to say in my head, but life keeps getting in the way.

So...maybe I should just type out a bunch of stuff. Try to not be so controlling with my typing fingers. See where things go...

--Thursday night I was asked to sing at a retirement party for the president of a pretty big business. I've known her for years, and have admired her immensely. The song was extremely silly: "Proud Mary," I played the Ike part to my friend Kim's Tina. Without the beating! They hid my presence throughout most of the party, figuring if people saw me they'd know I was going to sing. I entered the hotel (in Mystic, CT) wearing a dark hoodie and brought Corb with me for the ride. Hey, we managed to get a $140 meal out of the gig.

--Since Christmas, I've finished three books of Sherlock Holmes collections. Can't I get a prize or something for that?

--Corb and I also have discovered a new mutual obsession: Doctor Who, the new series. Well, kind of new. New to us. Anyway, since Saturday, we've gobbled through half the first season.

-- Friday night, we celebrated Annie's birthday with another group outing. I took a great photo last year, but this time around, the backdrop wasn't as conducive. Better luck next year!

-- Tuesday night are auditions. Wish me well! I hope we get a nice turn-out. I don't want to do this show without a good cast.

-- Wednesday I'm traveling to Manhattan for a pretty nice dinner. Have to rush back Thursday morning, though, for the next round of auditions. But train rides always seem to be good for telling a few stories. Something good may come out of that!
