One of the things I love about Memorial day week-end: our boss lets us leave early on Friday! I managed to sneak out by 2:15.

Last night, I went back to the theater where I spent the past three years directing. They've asked me to "call" their next show, and I agreed, about four months ago. Of course, four days ago, I was cursing that decision.

Actually, it wasn't bad, although I was swamped by people at the start of the night, asking "Are you coming back to direct next year?" It turns out that this year's director is mean. She doesn't really interact much with her peeps. As it was, she barely said hello to me, and I'm doing her a favor!

It was flattering, but the truth is, I really doubt that I'll be directing next year. I've enjoyed what I've been doing in 2007, and don't really want to go back to 2006!

Here's one thing I've learned about life: sometimes it's good to think of it as a series of adventures. I did the "directing a huge musical" thing for three years, with one group. That's enough time, and I'm not sure how much more milk I can squeeze out of that cow.

Anything doing anything interesting this week-end?
