Well, auditions are over, and I'm still recovering. We had about 50 people try out, so much of the day yesterday was spent calling people back. It's a good cast, and I'm pleased with the turnout.

Last night, Corb and I celebrated Valentine's Day one day early, and drove into Providence for dinner. We were originally going to eat at Cheesecake Factory , but things didn't go exactly as planned.

It was pretty crowded when we entered, and we were told by the hostess that it would be a 30-40 minute wait. We weren't thrilled about the wait, but took a buzzer, and then decided to brave the cold and see how long it would take to get a table at Fire and Ice . They had tables immediately, so we walked back to CF, talking about which way to go.

Once we entered CF, we overheard the hostess say 15-20 minutes, so we decided to wait it out there, and moved farther into the lobby, next to two guys who were obviously a couple.

About 15 minutes passed, and the two guys were talking pretty loudly. No big deal, but I suddenly realized that they were talking to one of the waiters.

"It feels like we've been waiting for three hours," one of the guys whined. "Everyone's out for Valentine's Day. Can't you move us up?"

The waiter looked around. "Hold on just a minute." I watched as he moved to the main table, and checked the computer. "Five minutes," he said.

I turned to Corb and whispered, "That guy just bumped those two ahead of us."

Sure enough, a few minutes later, the waiter came back, and walked over to the hostess. "Table eleven's free," he said.

She turned and started playing with the computer. "Good thing the manager's not here, because I could lose my job over this..." she whispered to him.

And then, sure enough, they were called up. We waited around about two more minutes, and then turned our beeper in, and headed off to Fire and Ice . Quite frankly, it was better food and a nicer atmosphere, and my advice to everyone today is to avoid Cheesecake Factory like the plague, because they don't play fair!

The waitress at Fire and Ice said we should complain, because what they did was wrong, and we could get a free meal out of it. Thoughts?
