Last night was an interesting evening. I wish that I had more time to set it all down into words, because it would make for an interesting story.

Suffice it to say, Ashley set off a major breakdown session for the entire family. Part of it was anxiety on her part, because she had a big school assignment due today for "A Wrinkle in Time" that had a lot of work to be completed.

But she REALLY freaked out, and it had a domino effect. Annie melted down, I definitely melted down, Josie burst into tears at one point, and Tiger was just really, really scared.

And then, we picked ourselves up, sat back down for supper, tried to put things back together...and succeeded. Beautifully.

We all pitched in to get the assignment done. Josie finished the last chapter with Ashley, I worked on the composition with her, Annie typed up Ashley's handwritten report, and Josie with Ashley on the quardrama that had to accompany the report. In the meantime, we tag teamed to keep Tiger busy, and when he got too tired, I drove him to my apartment and he crashed in my arms.

This morning I drove the kids to school and walked into Ashley's classroom with the completed project. It looked beautiful.

Last night didn't go as I would have plotted out in my head, but it does prove that we can knuckle under and worked together as a team, even now. And there's something to be said for that.

I won't get into the "paid political announcement" feel of Condoleezza Rice's testimony today (that goes without saying), but I will say that her voice really sounded quivery and nervous, almost as though she were a schoolgirl being sent to the principal's office. It was actually kind of...um, sexy.

I found out more about the video shoot in Maryland today. Although I was told it should only be a two day shoot, it actually looks as though it will be a four-day shoot, with three days of studio editing afterward.

The problem is, of course, the kids and the play. I would have to miss one whole week of rehearsals (two rehearsals a week).

On the other hand, its a good credit to have on my work resume.

I have to think about this one. Joe told me to hold off until our Tuesday conference call, because more writing assignments may come out of that, too...it could be tough to be able to juggle everything.
