Rainy day

The kids are lying on the couch, one on one end, the other on the other end, watching the television. Pokeman. I walked into the room and it reminded me of when I was a kid, and we would all fight for a place on the big couch. My sister Laurie would usually win the best spot and the lion's share of the space.

Josie's asleep, tired from working overnight. I tend to think she should give up the Saturday job, even though we'll need the money after the split. It's just too draining on her. She said she felt so alert last week, when she got out of working Saturday night. Now mind you, we were up until three talking to Dreamy, but she still had a few more hours than she's used to.

I'll get some time to work on Amelia today. I'm glad. My focus has been off. With my attention diverted to other shiny objects, she must feel more like Little Orphan Annie than Amelia.

But first. Ugh. The bills.
