Warning: I don't really spoil anything, but I do discuss the ending of this here movie!

John Waters once said that there are very few good movies out there that need more than ninety minutes to tell their story. Matrix Reloaded goes well past two hours and can't even come to a damn conclusion then! Instead, I was left feeling as though I was watching an episode of Dallas, complete with "scenes from our next show"!

Don't get me wrong, I love trilogies. But good trilogies--such as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc...are built upon story arcs. Three essentially self-contained stories that together form a cohesive whole.

Now, I'm not saying that all the loose ends need to be tied up. Certainly that isn't the case with the best Star Wars of them all, The Empire Strikes Back. "I love you." "I know." And then Solo is carted off. I was slobbering with anticipation for the next episode.

That's not what happens here. This very silly movie tries for a 2001: A Space Odyssey "God" sequence, fails miserably, throws us back into the action, then ends the movie abruptly. It's as if the directors ran out of film, so they slapped on a "To Be Continued" tag and threw up their hands.

I threw up mine, too. I have very little interest in seeing the third movie in November.
