Never underestimate the power that just an ounce of compassion and understanding can have on the soul of another individual.

It feels so freeing to be accepted and even welcomed for what you really are. Having only experienced this feeling from one person in my life (and God bless you, Josie!), it's just so wondrous, such a new experience, to be able to give voice, to articulate...and to be heard.

Compassion. Understanding. Love. Yes, love. That's what I wish to shower upon my children, and especially my best friend, no matter what. It's what she's shown me through this whole experience. It's the least that she deserves.

Thank you for that, Josie.

Tonight I told Michael--not totally directly, but made it pretty clear--what is going on. The first straight guy I've ever said anything to. And he didn't judge, he didn't back away, he accepted, he even welcomed me as a friend.

I've never experienced that before. And I am so grateful for it. I feel as though it chisels away another stone from my heart.

Next week will be a busy one. I was just assigned to shoot a video in Kansas City for three days, following up on the tragic tornadoes that devastated the area this past Sunday. Only problem--I'm scheduled to travel to NYC to meet with Jenn about Amelia. Not certain how I'm going to juggle both, but I'm looking forward to the challenge!
