About last night

Went out last night. I was supposed to go out with Josie to our favorite club, but she had a bad sore throat and was really tired, so I went alone.

I don't know. The place was kind of dead. The block was sectioned off, for some reason. I think there was some kind of big event going on. In any event, I had a few drinks and went home.

In the meantime, I didn't check my cell phone, and my friend Kim had called me at seven, looking to see if I wanted to go to the Hose Company. I wish I had checked that earlier!

It would be nice to find a bud to go out with, just as friends. That might take some of the pressure off. But I don't think that Kim is the right person.

Better get my butt off the computer. Have a lot of stuff to take care of today. I've been on the computer a lot this morning--loving my posts with ljinsomnia and loveisagypsy. But Josie is so wrong about my fashion sense! Nyah!

Dogs and Cats

Growl! My big old dog just escaped from the house, so I spent the last half an hour chasing him around the neighborhood. It was actually kind of funny. There I was, jogging after him, calling out his name, and he just keep moving forward, sniffing a branch, sniffing a tree, doing his best to ignore me. Or when he'd deign to acknowledge my presence, it would be a swift cock of his head to one side. Then he'd keep moving forward.

He was just enjoying the day. It's springtime in New England, and I can hear that the birds are back in town. And there are actually buds on the trees! I just didn't have the heart to put him back in the house.

In the meantime, our tiger cat, Ricky, just snagged a baby rabbit. Hurt his leg something fierce. We've placed the bunny in a box and filled it with some grass and a shallow pool of water. I'll have to return it back to nature soon. The kids are having a great old time, right now, protecting him against our other cat, Coco.

I grabbed Ricky to bring him into the house (he was enjoying nature a bit TOO much), and he scratched at my right hand and bit it. Since I'm right-handed, I'm in a wee amount of pain as I'm typing this.

Okay, back to work.
