I had a dream early one morning, where I was sitting in a hotel room and listening to the radio. I woke up and the tune on the radio was still in my head. It was a Country and Western song, and as I drove to work that morning, I wrote down the following lines...later on I sent it to my brother, and he wrote a song based on the lyrics, too. It was fun talking to him on the phone that night. He would perform his version on guitar, and I would sing him my version. He's a better guitar player, I'm a better singer.

Oh nightime's, falling, yeah
For me and my girl
Nightime's falling,
For me and my girl
So say your sorries
As you turn off your world
Oh nighttime's falling
For me and my girl

We ended it late last night
After talking to dawn
We spoke about the good times
And what went wrong
And as she turned out her light
I could see it in her eyes
She was only saying goodnight
But we were saying goodbye

(Repeat Chorus)

So now I sit here in my room
Got the TV as my guide
I pour myself another drink
Tell another round of lies
But I know the truth deep in my heart
I was dumb where she was wise
WIll I ever find another?
I'm so lonely I could die
