Lynn birthday party
Jun. 17th, 1983 03:15 pm Went to school today to see Kim, and Steve of course. Steve and I chatted for a while but he had to leave to go to the Lincoln Mall. He invited me to come along, but I was going to Kim's.
Garbled information on Miss Cobb and Mark. Walked a bit after Steve left and met Lauren and others. Then I went to Kim's. Had fun--went swimming in her pool. After that I rode to the Industrial Park and saw Steve playing with some of his friends. Steve was miffed because his plans with Mark were screwed up and Miss Cobb said he was always messed up. I left him and rode home.
Went to Lynn Alix's surprise birthday party--Karen K REFUSED to invite Steve to it. Stopped at Wamsutta and got Lynn a card. Met Kim there and KK and she took the pin out of my alligator. I was miffed.
(2026 note: Corb and I were just talking about the fashion trend of putting up the collar on your polo, which is becoming a thing again. Imagine if putting a safety pin through your alligator ever resurfaced!)
Karen Boyd was happy because she and Jenny were made drum majors for next year, beating Eric, Ric and Eileen. Many were upset, including KK and Cathy Clinton.
I was getting depressed at the party (I felt out of it) so decided to call Deb F to see what she was doing. I got to go over to her house. Karen Boyd decided to go with me without Eric, who she likes. She seemed happy enough but as we left she burst into tears. She said that Tim came up at the party and that Eric deserved to be drum major instead of Karen. Karen was upset, especially since Tim shouldn't treat her so shitty. Especially since he gave her (and I was shocked) herpes. And even so, she planned to give him $300 for his education.
(2026 note: as I read and write these, I am shocked at what a horrible person this Tim was. He grew up to be a rabid MAGA Republican. Quel surprise.)
When we went to Deb's, I found out something even more shocking: Karen intimated that Deb got herpes from Tim as well. I can't believe it. But in a way, I can. And I feel a bit of jealousy--Tim getting Deb. We talked for a while. Then we went back to the party. Ric left early--he got in a fight with Nancy. They aren't going out any more, as Ric is going out with a Rainbow girl. I talked with Nancy for a while, we spoke before I left to go see Deb. She seemed okay, even with Ric's spastics. (And I think his Rainbow Girl was there!) Nancy told me she would never have gone out with Steven--after all, he is only a freshman and much too young for her. I drove Melissa and Nancy home.
