I did watch the Academy Awards last night. I have to admit, it kind of bored me.

I just didn't find it half as interesting as, say, the Grammies just a few weeks ago. That awards ceremony kept my attention, perhaps because it had so many old geezers on it, reuniting or appearing after a long time away, etc. Or, new talents doing interesting or outrageous things.

The Oscars, on the other hand, had an old geezer hosting, and someone who has been funny in the past, but this year, he just seemed flat, like ginger ale left out on the shelf for a day after being opened. Nothing even remotely interesting happened. Even the "in memorium" section, which I usually find emotional, seemed really washed out and colorless. The most interesting thing was Angelina Joli flashing some leg, which for me, wasn't that interesting at all. I just don't find her that attractive. Her arms are way too skinny and I've never found anorexia to be that appealing a look.

I was hoping that Viola Davis would win for The Help, but that didn't happen. But she lost to one of the best, so that's a Help.

All in all, though, my time could have been put to better use.
