I've finally succumbed. After three days of feeling like crap, I finally gave in and took a sick day out of work, today. As it is, I worked all morning, and am only now sitting down to relax. But, it's the week-end, so there's that to look forward to. The good thing is, no using the car, so once I'm feeling perkier, I'll get that oil and filter change later in the week-end. Then, there will be one less anxiety in my life.
A bit of motivation to call in was the snow we received last night. Not that it was that much: only about two inches of slushy light white stuff. Still, the old Mustang doesn't like snow very much! Even a little bit is inclined to make it fishtail every now and then.
The big news today came in the morning. Corb's mother, calling me. At first I thought it was because Corb's phone is down, because he can't pay the bill until payday. However, it turned out to be much more serious than that. Her boyfriend Jim has been having troubles lately. He's taken some hard falls of late, and a few days ago was involved in a major car accident that was totally his fault. In the middle of the night, he suffered a stroke, and didn't realize it until this morning, when he tried to get out of bed and collapsed onto the floor. She's in the hospital with him.
I resolve to be much nicer to her, going forward. Lately, we've had a bit of a difficult relationship. It's time to let all that go, and to be there for her, as family. She has been awfully good to us.
