"It's too bad I can't show off my feet more on dates," mused Pauline last night, as we were sitting outside on Josie's deck enjoying the summer night. "They really are one of my best features."

"Maybe you could find ways to show them off," suggested Corb. "Maybe you could learn to eat with your feet?"

"Hmmm, let me see," said Pauline, and started moving her legs up to her mouth.

"Maybe you could learn to pass the bread with them..."

"Oh, look. I dropped my fork! Silly me." And with that, Pauline pretended to pick up a fork with her feet and hand it back to her imaginary date. By then, we had all been reduced to laughing hysterically, something that's been pretty much common since we were teens.

"Mine are prettier," said Josie, gazing down at her feet.

Pauline made a face. "No, mine are!"

I felt the need to step in between their bickering. "Ladies, we've been having this argument for way too many years. You two have been fighting over your feet for far too long. Why don't we decide this once and for all?"

Reason number 42,386 why there's a special place in hell for my classless little group of friends. Here's how we spent Ashes' 17th birthday party: while she was busy with her friends, we sat around playing board games and taking photos of feet, for the express purpose of finally figuring out who should be crowned champion of the first-ever Pretty Pretty Feet contest.

So, I'll let you, my friends, decide...I'm posting five sets of feet from last night's party. I'm not providing you with any names...but which pair do you think are the most attractive? Could be Josie or Pauline's...could be somebody else! But be warned...there are a few stinkers in the mix. And no, none of them are mine.
