Planet getaway.
So, Annie calls me this morning, about plans for this week-end: "Daddy, I wanted to take Ashes on Friday night for a girls night. Is it okay if she sleeps over?"
"Sure thing!" I said. Of course.
"I thought that would give you a guy's night with you and Corb and Theo."
"True dat," I said. Well, not really. "Actually, that'd be really great, because I have the kids all week-end."
"Oh!" she said. "If you want, I could have Theo sleep over, too. That way, you could make it a date night."
"That's really nice. With the play going on, it's been a really busy time...it's been hard to actually schedule time to breathe."
"That's what I figured."
I paused for a moment. "Hmmm. Now, if I could only find a way to get Corb to sleep over somewhere, I could make it a 'me' night..."
It was just a joke, but it will be awfully nice to get some alone time with Corb. Sometimes, you just need a little bit of time to get away from the world...at least, for one night.
