My dear friend Desi directed my attention to a neat site:
National Novel Writing Month
This site claims it's National Novel Writing Month and challenges participants to begin writing on November 1, with the goal to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.
Here's what the site says:
"Make no mistake: You will be writing a lot of crap. And that's a good thing. By forcing yourself to write so intensely, you are giving yourself permission to make mistakes. To forgo the endless tweaking and editing and just create. To build without tearing down."
Okay, well, I've been stalled on my third novel for a bit, so you know what? I'll try to use this as motivation to get more done. I don't want to pump out crap, however, I will try to get at least page 100 by month end.
