Random stuff for a Sunday

tedwords Random weird fact: Did you know that mice sing in the presence of potential mates? According to Washington University researchers, they produce a high pitched babble for courtship. At last, an explanation for karaoke bars!
Current video obsession: Zelda, Ocarina of Time. It's really funny how I start things and then, months later, they bubble back up to the surface, and get I get obsessed all over again. I'm currently in Dodongo's Cavern.
Current book obsession: Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Gregory Maguire. He has a nice, clean writing style, and I like how he takes the familar and savagely twists it.
Current music obsession: Push Barman to Open Old Wounds . Here's the thing that's significant. Usually, when I go to sleep, I cannot have music playing where someone is singing. It's too distracting, and the voice always seems to depress me, so I'm forced to get out of bed and turn it of. Or, the vocal is too loud, so I have to get out of bed and turn it down. Or, it's too soft, so...you get the idea. Not so with this CD. It put me in a nice little bubble and I was able to go right to sleep shortly after "Lazy Line Painter Jane."
Writing status: Last night I typed up three chapters of Late Night Show, bring me close to 40,000 words. As I said when I started, my goal wasn't to hit any set mark, but simply to increase my creative output, and so, I'm pleased with what I've accomplished. Definitely don't think I'll hit 50,000, however. But I'll keep working throughout December and won't think about Kiss Me Kate until the new year.
Current health status: Not good. I'm coming down with a cold. Of course, it might just be the fact that I've been cooped up in the apartment for two days...
