Returned home from Boston, and now need to scramble around to get ready for the annual New Year's Eve party/skanky swap that we hold at the homestead every New Year's eve.

Corb and I spent most of the day walking through the city. We ate lunch at Fanuel Hall and then had dessert in the North End. Along the way, we took in as much as we could stand of a godawful "live" concert hosted by Radio Disney. The headliner was Aaron Carter, who we saw behind the stage, handing out autographs. His skin was horrible. It almost looked as though he has pock marks--they must airbrush him an awful lot in his photos. We also saw this really short girl named Gillian Something-or-other perform. She sang this song about feeling as though she had a "kick me" sign on her and kept turning around to flash her butt every time the line came up in the song. As if we needed the visual.

At the end of the day, we walked through Chinatown, and picked up a lovely package of flavoured squid from a Chinese supermarket for the Skanky Swap. For my gift, I'm handing out a plastic statue of a black Mary surrounded by little cherubs, and sequined fruit magnets. It's sure to be a big hit.

On the way home, we stopped by Milton Hospital and saw this window that's supposed to be a vision of Mary, created by condensation. It was unsettling, to be honest, because it looked a lot like those classic Renaissance paintings that you see.

Tonight is a first: I get to meet Josie's boyfriend Andy, and Pauline's new boyfriend, as well. I'm going to try to keep my asshole inclinations set to one. Hopefully Corb will help keep me honest, too.
