Excellent day in school today--Ted hated his lunch Thursday, so he managed to sneak into study in the auditorium. Kevin, Mark, Deb and Pat were there, too.
[Ah, I remember those lunches so well! Absolutely such an improvement over the horrible noisy cafeteria that everyone was crammed into. It was kind of like an oasis from the world, with all my theater friends hanging out...and when a show was going on and a set was being built, it was even more fun.)
After school, he had to go to the band room at six to get his uniform, although they are getting new uniforms pretty soon.
[In reading these so many years later, it must have been really awkward writing in the third person all the time. Moving everything to "he" and "they" just seems...unnecessary. But I do believe that changes in my journal, at some point.]
He got out at 7:30. Mom doesn't like Mr. Bunton. She says that he yells too much, and she is afraid of him because of it.
Mr. Bunten did kind of resemble a big lion, so I can see my mom being afraid of him. I believe he died of a heart attack several years later. (Update: sounds like he may still be alive, but survived a heart attack and a stroke)
Mr. Valente thinks that he is conducting concert nand during the day, but Mr. Bunten wants the day sessions to be sectionals (clarinets all go together in one room, etc.) Mr. Valente says that the practice rooms will only hold one and thus they must do it his way. Ted was really ripped about the whole thing. He hopes Mr. Bunton will tell Mr. Valente to go screw.
[Well, that's not nice. What a nasty kid I was!]
