tedwordsAnother loverly week-end. And another week-end, oddly enough, of interesting choices.
Yesterday was my out night, and I had a few options: I was supposed to see Dana for coffee, if he dropped of the kids in time, and then see Pippin in Boston-my choreographer's daughter is in a production that's being produced with Emerson students.
I did call Dana, but he didn't call back. Which in some ways, may be more of a blessing than anything else. He really seems to be something of a party boy. Nothing wrong with that, but I'd get bored trying to keep him entertained, frankly.
Well, as I as getting ready for Pippin, another option presented itself. Eddie started calling me frequently, saying that he and his friend Jesus were traveling from Springfield to Providence that night, and did I want to meet up with them?
My immediate thought was, "he waited until six to tell me this?" And also, "why the sudden urge to travel to Providence?"
Well, I did call him, after Pippin was over (and I found the theater on time, too, even though I got losted and just decided to go with my instincts and forget the direction.)
"We're at Mirabar," he said, "And we don't have a place to stay in Providence tonight."
"I'm with friends in Boston right now," I said.
"How far away is that? How long will it take you to get here?"
Hello? I'm supposed to drop everything and go see you? And put you up for the night--and someone I've never met--with three hours notice? Especially after our history?
I didn't call him back that night. I just had the feeling I was being set up.
Today: a day with the kids, ice cream, the zoo..Bomberman! Tonight: out with Daniel to see, um...things!
