We're outta here.

Well, we received the "thumbs up" from the new apartment complex, and I called the landlord and let her know that we're moving out, so it's official...we're moving on.

Corb is excited beyond words. The new landlord told us that we're encouraged to make the place our own, so he has all these grand schemes about what he wants to do. He picked up Ashes about a half an hour ago, so that he can discuss color schemes for her room, and already has a floor map put together for where everything's going to be.

This is what I get for being involved with an architect.

About five minutes ago, he walked in with a stackful of cardboard, and now he's hard at work putting all of our DVDs and CDs into boxes. Hope we don't want to watching anything during the next three weeks...

"This week-end is about homework and packing," he announced. "And, cleaning your nostrils out."

I'm excited, too. This is going to be a great new adventure, and I can't wait to get it started.

But I will miss the place we have now, in many ways. This was where I moved in after Josie and I broke up, and it's provided me a lot of comfort, these past seven years.

I'll miss the beautiful pond that all the apartments are built around, and the geese proudly showing off their babies, during the spring. I'll miss our next door neighbor, Mr. Benjamin, being greeting every afternoon when she gets out of work, with a high pitched, "I'm home!" I'll miss lying on the couch, exactly where I am now, and typing away. I'll miss the lonely sound of the geese honking in the middle of the night.

And, there will be new things that I'll love about the new place, I know that.

I'm pretty cool about this move, actually. It won't half as stressful as my last one, that's for sure. I'm looking forward to creating a lot of happy memories. It's going to be a perfect place for our game parties.

The only thing I'm dreading? The move itself. We're going from a third floor to a third floor. No fun!
