In New England, tonight is supposed to be the coldest night in decades. I'm not sure how it could possibly feel much colder than it has, but I'm grateful for the following things that have kept me warm the past few days:

a) A lovely postcard from a certain someone that I received in the mail yesterday and that brought a huge smile to my face at a time that I really needed it. Koko was really pleased, Coco!

b) A nice meal last night at Morin's with an old friend, Bob. He asked me to join him and his girlfriend swing dancing after that, but I said I'd settle for the movies Sunday night. I'm grateful for Bob's words of encouragement, an intelligent and thoughtful conversation, and the hot blueberry pie.

c) My friend Elaine, who I had a heart to heart with last night. When I came in this morning, I found an envelope on my desk and $40 inside it. The note said, "Don't call me. Don't say a word. Just take this little "tip" and think of it as a thank you from me for all of the help and support you've given me the past several years. It's not much, but I hope it will help you out a wee bit or provide you with cash to have a little fun."

d) [livejournal.com profile] robcelt allowing me to babble insanely on the car ride home last night. Thanks, man!

e) My friend Jen, who just called and said some really nice things. Our discussions have really helped me--and the furniture she gave me is some of the best stuff I have in the apartment.

It's good to have good friends! :)
