John wrote back and won't budge on the rent. I can see his point--it's a damn fair rent for the East Side, and he aint running a charity (particularly because the Fulbright that he's traveling for isn't paying a hell of a lot), but in reviewing my finances, I just can't see how I can swing it.

But in the meantime, I'm meeting up with someone tomorrow night who is looking for a roommate. He's adorable, 26, has a two-year-old son and is also gay, and we seemed to really hit it off tonight. His apartment is in Woonsocket, which is hardly the East Side...

Tonight we watched "Finding Nemo" with the kids. Great flick, Matt! You were right. I enjoyed the short that came before it, too. But I ended up getting melancholy toward the end. Cried all the way home, just couldn't stop, while the kids chatted in the back seat, innocently unaware. And Josie closed her eyes and pretended to sleep, but she knew what I was feeling and grabbed my hand. I do so love her.
